LEARNING HOW TO DEFEND THE FAITH

An Introductory course in Christian apologetics designed for high school and pre-college level students.
 
 

"Christ Preeminent in All Things"

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

               In 1 Peter 3:15 the Apostle Peter exhorts the Christian to "sanctify Christ as Lord in your heart, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence" Very clearly the Apostle tells us that whenever anyone asks you questions about your faith in Christ you should be able to give some good answers to them! Unfortunately, many are not able to do so.

               "Leaning How to Defend The Faith"  will help you to do so. It is an introductory Christian apologetics course designed especially for high school and pre-college level students. This course will give you answers to some of the most common questions raised against the Christian faith such as:

1. If God is all good and all powerful why do bad things happen to innocent people?

2. If God is a God of love how could He ever send a person to Hell?

3. Isn't it enough just to to say that Jesus was a good moral teacher?

4. Is it really possible to know what is absolutely true?

5. Hasn't science proven that miracles are impossible?         

6. Since the Bible was written by men why should we trust what it says?

7. Aren't there numerous contradictions in the Bible?

8. If God is absolutely sovereign, isn't man just a robot?

9. Is Christ really the way to salvation?

10. Can you really prove that God exists?

      These questions and more will be answered during the class. Lecture, role playing and open discussions will be used to accomplish this goal. In the end, all who attend will not only be better equipped to be able to "make a defense" for their faith but hopefully they will leave with their faith strengthened in the full assurance of the Gospel of Christ

                Providence Church in Mifflin, Ohio. Providence Church meets at the Lions Club building in Mifflin,  Ohio across  the street from the Trading Post. The building is a wood sided white church building.
