A Reformed Church Near Wooster, OH

Providence Church is a congregation located near Wooster, OH that unabashedly embraces the the grand principles of the Protestant Reformation as encapsulated the Westminster and London Confessions.
Some of our distinctive traits as a Reformed body include...
The belief in the absolute sovereignty of God.
We do not shy away from the fact that God has ordained the end from the beginning. Scripture testifies to the fact that God has decreed all things even before the foundation of the world. This also applies to the salvation of souls. Without the working of God's Spirit in the heart, man will remain dead in his sin and adverse to God.
The covenantal framework of Scripture.
The Lord has one plan, one promise, and one people. In the Garden of Eden he initiated the covenant of grace, and he will continue to draw people to himself until it is consummated by Christ's return and the establishment of the New Heavens and New Earth.
The family is a key part of this covenant as it is the normal means of God's way of working to preserve his church.
Expository preaching
Preaching is the usual way the Spirit convicts and converts sinners and builds them up in Christ. For this reason it is imperative that God's people be exposed to the whole counsel of God. The best way to achieve this is by preaching through books of the Bible line by line, verse by verse. In every message we seek to explain, illustrate and apply Scripture.
