Providence Church

Frequently Asked Questions

Picture
WHAT DENOMINATION ARE YOU?
Providence is an independent church.  As such it has no denominational affiliation.  Our doctrine is Reformed.  So we identify most closely with churches from that tradition.

Nevertheless, we support and will commune with any person or church that holds to evangelical doctrine and orthodox Christianity.
WHAT IS A 'FAMILY INTEGRATED' CHURCH?
A family integrated church is the opposite of a family segregated church.  We seek to keep our children in our services so that they may participate in the worship and hear the proclamation of God's word.  In sum, we seek to heed Christ's words when he said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them.  For to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
DO YOU HAVE A YOUTH GROUP?
We encourage participation in two of the greatest children's programs God has instituted: the family and corporate worship.  We believe that fathers should take the responsibility to nurture their children in the Lord and that they should join with the rest of God's people in our weekly worship of Christ.
What kind of child care do you provide during your services?
Since our children are members of God's covenant family, we encourage them to remain in the service as much as possible.  However, if a child gets the "wiggles," parents may utilize the space designated as a cry room.
who may partake of the Lord's supper?
Providence observes the Lord's Supper on a weekly basis.  We invite anyone who has been baptized and made a public profession of faith in Christ to participate.  In sum, we welcome anyone who holds to the basics of the Apostle's Creed and is not living in flagrant, unrepentant sin.
iS THERE AN OFFERING?
If you would like to give an offering to the Lord and help support the work and worship of Providence, you may do so by placing your gift in the box on the communion table.
hOW CAN I BE SAVED?
This, by far, is the most important question.  This is how:
1.  Acknowledge yourself to be a sinner justly deserving the wrath and curse of God.
2.  With grief and sorrow for your sin turn from it to the Lord.
3.  Trust in Christ who promises eternal life and mercy.
4.  Contact us so we can help you begin to live a life that pleases the Lord.
WHAT IF WE HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?
Don't let your curiosity go unsatisfied.  Contact us.  We'd love to help.
