We welcome you to join us if you are able. We meet from 11-1 every Thursday (in Mansfield) and Friday (in Ashland).
Joe and I have been doing some street evangelism over the last few weeks with our new prayer stand. We've had tremendous opportunities and look forward to what God will do through it.
We welcome you to join us if you are able. We meet from 11-1 every Thursday (in Mansfield) and Friday (in Ashland). ![]() This Sunday we will have guest preacher, Mark Robinette, and his friend from Myanmar, Nang Taing. Providence has begun to support Pastor Robinette's work in Myanmar. We encourage you to visit the Mission to Myanmar website and like their page on facebook to follow their work. Pastor Robinette is seeking to aid the growing church in Myanmar by providing resources and pastoral training to the native ministers. We've told you about our big evangelism excursion at Ashland University. We've been blessed to have heard some positive responses to the gospel DVD that we passed out to the students. Some of those involved in the outing put together this video. It is a fantastic clip that really shows why we are doing these kinds of things! We are revving up for our next evangelism outing. We will be passing out some of the Biggest Question DVD's at Ashland University on March 26th. And...by some, I mean 1,800!
The shipment came in yesterday (see the pic above) and the evangelistic juices are starting to flow. Make sure you let us know if you want to be a part of the distribution. Our team will be on campus from 11am-3pm. ![]() Our brother Joe recently went down to Columbus, OH to do some evangelism at the Arnold Classic, a body building event that Arnold Schwarzenegger holds each year. I asked Joe to give us a review of his experience. This is what he had to say... There was a larger crowd there this year than last year, so parking was a bit more of a challenge. We began around 11:30am. Just as we were setting up a young man by the name of James began open air preaching just 30 feet from our location. He continued for about an hour and then stopped, which allowed us to have a conversation with him.
![]() Protecting pre-born children is perhaps Providence Church's number one concern. To that end we are thankful for those in our congregation who are attempting to gather signatures for the Ohio Personhood Amendment. In sum, the amendment would give pre-born children equal status with other people, and thus protect them from death through abortion. You can learn more about it at the Ohio Personhood Amendment website. There are a number of events over the next few months that will be venues for gathering these signatures. If you would like to participate by taking a time slot at a booth or accompany others as they collect signatures, we would greatly appreciate your help. The opportunities that are currently slated are as follows: July 13 Yaves Ellis concert (Columbus, OH) August 15-18 Blueberry Festival (Lexington, OH) We are also hoping to pinpoint some other events in September, and visit other churches in the area for the purpose of gathering signatures.
He detailed how different life is for the Christians there; pointing out how while they have very little in terms of worldly goods they are rich in faith good works towards God. Listen to Mark tell of those who are longing to know Christ and follow him in 'the deeper way."
In 2012 Providence church collected money to give to a congregation in Romania so they could buy a heating system for their church. Since then we've had some regular connections with the congregation. We thought we would pass on the latest communication, which had some interesting news and some great pictures! It is a while without to hear by you. |
